If you have sold real estate in another country or even another state and want to take advantage of the outstanding real estate market in the San Diego area, getting your San Diego real estate license takes time. However, the staff here at Keller Williams will work with you to help transfer your credentials so you can go to work in one of the most lucrative real estate markets in the United States.
Let’s face it. You already know how to help clients buy and sell properties. That skill makes you a valuable commodity, so we’ll do all that it takes to help you get your San Diego Real estate license as quickly as possible. Obviously, you’ll need to apply to the California Bureau of Real Estate (BRE)to get a license. Unlike some other states, California does not have a reciprocity agreement that qualifies you as a broker or agent to practice real estate in California if you have a license somewhere else. In addition, California will not wave education or experience requirements even if you are licensed to practice elsewhere.
While the idea of having to retake some real estate course that you may have taken previously may sound daunting at first, we’ll help you every step of the way Keller Williams frequently brings in some of he best educators in the real estate industry to provide curses for our staff, making it easy for you to fulfill the requirements that the state wants.
California issues two different types of real estate licenses: one designates you as a real estate broker, the other as a real estate sales agent. The broker license qualifies you to negotiate sales, solicit listings, buyers or sellers, negotiate property sales contracts, carryback notes and trust deeds, along with other related activities. With a sales agent license, you must be employed by a real estate broker to provide those services, which must be done under the broker’s supervision.
Obtaining your San Diego real estate license has specific requirements that you must fulfill before you become eligible. These include
Completion of eight courses approved by the BRE
Two years of full-time real estate experience during the last five years
Passing the state broker licensing exam
Submitting the required documents and fees
